America's Original Ghost Conference (Often Imitated, Never Equaled) is back for our 16th year and will be held over the weekend of June 22-23, 2012 at the haunted Lincoln Theater in Decatur, Illinois.  Join us as we return to the conference (you axed for it!) to this spook-infested location and discover nationally-known speakers on ghosts, hauntings, monsters and the supernatural. The event will include lectures and presentations on hauntings, our new "American Monster panel", haunted tours, ghost hunts, workshops, after-hours events and much more! We’ll spend the late night hours looking for the theater’s ghosts and we’ll also include a history of the theater as well. Is it really as haunted as many claim? Ghost Hunt at the Avon Theater

Join us for a late night investigation on Friday or Saturday night at the nearby Avon Theater (just a few blocks from the Lincoln!), a 1916 movie house that is haunted by the ghost of its former owner. We'll spend the late night hours looking for this ghost -- and others -- and discover the strange history of the Avon. Offered for the first time during the Haunted America Conference!

Ghost Hunting Workshop with Dale Kaczmarek (President, Ghost Research Society) 9:00 PM

Join one of America's most respected ghost research as he returns for another Haunted America Conference workshop, this time on the wide variety of high-tech equipment that has been introduced to the world of ghost research, and how to use it. He'll be offering demonstrations and showing you the ways to collect the best evidence possible in your own investigations. Workshop will be held at the Lincoln Theater!

Private Readings with Renowned Psychic Ken Melvoin-Berg
Ken will be offering private readings throughout the weekend of the conference with limited spots on Friday and for Saturday afternoon. Reserve when registering for the event and we'll fill all of the spots on a first come / first served basis when possible during the conference. Conference host Troy Taylor is an occultist, crime buff, supernatural historian and author of more than 80 books on ghosts, hauntings, crime and the unexplained in America. He is also the founder of the American Ghost Society and the owner of the American Hauntings Tours. Along with writing and creating and sponsoring ghost tours and ghost hunts, Troy has been a regular speaker for many past events, but now limits himself to rare speaking events and the Haunted America Conference.

Rene Kruse is an author, ghost hunt coordinator and a long-time rep for the American Ghost Society. She hold a PhD from Texas A&M and is a professor of Applied Engineering and Technology at California University of Pennsylvania. She has been involved in paranormal research since the middle 1970s.
At the 2012 Conference, Troy & Rene will be presenting on A Pale Horse was Death,  a sequel to their book about American Disasters and Hauntings, And Hell Followed With It.


April Slaughter is the author of the popular traveler’s series book Ghost Hunting Texas. She has been a long-time paranormal journalist, publishing articles on all types of paranormal subjects including Demonology, Psychic Phenomena, UFOs/Skinwalkers, Faeries, Hauntings, among many others. She is one of only a small number of people to own and operate devices known as Frank’s Boxes, and is a leading researcher of EVP-ITC phenomena. April is a returning favorite to the conference this year will be presenting Reaching Beyond the Veil, new information about her continuing research with Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC) as well as introducing material on Induced After Death Communication (IADC).

Deonna Kelli Sayed is a coffee drinking, ghost hunting American Muslim of global proportions.  She has lived and traveled throughout the Muslim world and has conducted research on everything from ghosts to global culture. She is currently the editor of Ghostvillage.com and the author of Paranormal Obsession  and So You Want To Hunt Ghosts? At the 2012 event, Deona will be presenting on Embracing the Obsession,  which unveils the unique relationship between pop culture and paranormal investigation.  She looks at the impact of paranormal reality TV on American society and within the paranormal community.

Beth Meyer is an author, public speaker, radio host and historian. Since 2003 she has operated Paranormal Adventures USA, a tourism business that features ghost and history tours as well as other events involving the paranormal. She is author of two books, Ghosts of Kansas which features authentic haunted locations in the northeast part of the state, and Wichita Haunts, featuring stories from the Wichita, Kansas ghost tours. She also enjoys Feng Shui, space clearing and crystals. Beth has a background in print, broadcast and online media, and is co-host of Paranormal Adventure Radio. At the 2012 conference, Beth will present Bringing Home the Ghost, which explores the connection between the problems of "hoarders" and people who live in haunted houses and how negative energies can impact our lives and be cleared away. 

Curt Strutz has been interested in the paranormal as far back as the sixth grade. His enjoyment of the subject, love of history, and passion for old structures has led him spend a lot of his free time entering, exploring, and experiencing some of the country's most haunted locations. He tours the country presenting both "how to" paranormal technique seminars, as well as his popular "Visiting the Beyond" presentation. Residing in Wisconsin, Curt is also a co-producer and cast member for TV's "Paranormal Generation," a scientific based paranormal cable television show that is currently being broadcast on over 20 TV stations across the country. At the 2012 event, Curt will be presenting Visiting the Beyond, an interactive journey through some of the nation’s most haunted locations, including abandoned hospitals, haunted battlefields, deserted asylums, historic locations, and known haunted residences around the United States - A great presentation for those into history, or those looking for unique places to travel to experience the paranormal!
Troy Taylor Presents: The New "American Monsters" Panel -- From Bigfoot to Mothman, Phantom Panthers & Other Mysterious Creatures -- Because America Isn't Just Haunted by Ghosts!

Rosemary Ellen Guiley is the author of 47 books and counting on the paranormal, including several books including cryptids and mysterious creatures. Her Atlas of the Mysterious in North America features Bigfoot, water monsters and assorted mysterious creatures. Monsters of West Virginia, new in 2012, focuses on strange entities in the Mountain State, including Mothman, Bigfoot, thunderbirds, White Things, the Grafton Monster, the Flatwoods Monster, dogmen and other oddities. The Vengeful Djinn makes a case for the mysterious Djinn masquerading as cryptids. Rosemary is presently at work on books about Mothman and a new book on Djinn cases in America. In addition, her encyclopedias on ghosts and spirits, vampires and werewolves, and demons and demonology also feature cryptids.

Eric Altman is a Paranormal enthusiast,  Bigfoot Investigator, Director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, and the host and Producer of Beyond the Edge Radio. He has been researching Bigfoot since the middle 1990s and is
well known and respected by his peers in the Cryptozoology field. He has conducted field research in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Texas, California and Oregon Eric has investigated over 200 cases of Bigfoot encounters.  He also serves as a Consultant on Bigfoot for numerous paranormal organizations. 

Stan Courtney is a Bigfoot/Sasquatch researcher with an interest in Bigfoot since 1959, with his first possible encounter near Springfield, Oregon in 1967. Stan has been a member of the Bigfoot Research Organization since 2004 and has interviewed more than 250 monster witnesses and has posted 160 reports on the BFRO website. He has been actively engaged in audio recording for the last 7 years and has recorded over 80 sounds that would fall into the category of an unknown animal or Bigfoot. Stan travels all over the country researching sighting locations, has given talks on the topic of “Bigfoot In Illinois” to groups throughout the state and has been a guest on  numerous radio shows.

Len Adams is the vice-president of the American Ghost Society, an author and lead tour guide in Alton and Lebanon for the Illinois Hauntings Tour Co. He has been actively investigating the paranormal for many years and handles AGS investigations for much of downstate Illinois. He has appeared in number of articles about ghosts and hauntings for magazines and newspapers and has been interviewed numerous times for radio and television broadcasts. He has also worked a a public speaker for private and public groups in the St. Louis area. Born in St. Louis and raised around haunted houses in southwestern Illinois, Len was well-suited to take over from "Strange Stuff" creator John Brill when John's health no longer allowed him to continue with the unique, interactive event that always kicks off the conference. Now called Son of Strange Stuff, Len returns for another year in 2012!
